Our meetings are the first Wednesday of each month from September to May. Meetings take place in the back section of Foto Art at 7pm. Periodically, we have guest speakers or presentations at some of the meetings and the public is more than welcome to drop in. Please note that the schedule is subject to change.
Our 2009-2010 season is now under way. We’ll have a more detailed schedule here as soon as it becomes available. The meeting dates are listed below.
December 2, 2009
This is our Social evening. Members can bring finger foods to share with the group.
We will also be having our “Where is it/What is it?” contest and we plan on spending some time outside with our cameras shooting some of the Northern Lights display.
January 6, 2010
The theme for this meeting is “Christmas Lights”. Bring in your five best images from last month’s photo shoot at the meeting or from any other lights that you may have captured from the Festive Season.
We will be pre-judging three categories of the entries for the upcoming Regional Competition and Greg will have a tech tip to share.
February 3, 2010
“Black and White” will be the theme and we will have Steve Irvine in as a guest speaker. Steve is a potter who also makes his own pin hole cameras.
We’ll cover three more categories for the Regional Competition and if time permits, another tech tip.

March’s theme is “Self Portrait”, we’ll pre-judge three more Regional competition categories and we hope to have another guest speaker. More details as they become available. Plus Greg’s tech tip.

If you’ve ever thought you’d like to capture the goings on in your community here’s your chance. April’s theme is “Street Photography”. The Regional Competition is n April so we’ll select the entries at this meeting.

Winter is behind us and Summer is almost here. With the changing seasons there must have been plenty of opportunities for this month’s theme, “Weather”. We’ll have a guest speaker (to be announced) and another tech tip.
June 2, 2010
Tradition sets our last meeting of the season in May but since the meetings are the first Wednesday of the month and it falls so early in May, we’ve decided to extend this season into June. Our May meeting also includes a group dinner to discuss the upcoming season and reflect on the past season, but this year, we are planning a field trip, possibly out of town, where we can take some photos and possibly have a dinner somewhere. More details as they become available.
Upcoming Workshops
February 2010 – Following Steve Irvine’s talk we will organize a time and date to have an evening or weekend workshop on making your own pin hole camera with a coffee can. Save up those empty coffee cans!
May 2010 – Watch for details on the Miksang workshop to be held on the last weekend of May. Spots are limited so if you think you’d like to attend, act quickly. You can read more on this at http://miksang.com
