Brian Robin

I started my photographic journey at a very young age, snapping away with my parents’ disused polaroid camera. None of these early photos survived, probably because I was never allowed any film. I demonstrated an affinity for flash photography at this same early age, or at least I liked to put spent flash cubes (all I was given) in my mouth.

I’d like to say I’ve come a long way since those humble early beginnings but I haven’t. My main camera still has no film, I sometimes use a pinhole camera that takes one shot at a time like the old polaroid, and I still put the flash in my mouth.

I mostly photograph small animals, insects, flowers, inanimate objects – generally stuff that doesn’t talk back. I also turn the camera on myself and I hope to one day master candid self-portraiture. I can also be found on Flickr.
